Travelling through Western Australia makes you aware of space. Wide open space.

You can drive hours through stretches of sleepy seaside ports, towering Karri forests and flat, red earth and pass very few people.

In fact, if you stand on a desert salt plain and spin around, you will see a glimmering white horizon that feels like another planet entirely.

Along such Western Australian coastlines the sense of solitude and simplicity is incredibly soothing. It’s no wonder the guys behind ‘Salty Wings’ are captivated by such landscapes.

Michael Goetze and Jampal Williamson photograph from the ‘wings’ of their drones sweeping along the 20,000 kilometre Western Australian coastline.

This concept of ‘space’ is captured in their images through the colourful, stark collision of land and sea.

The high-res images from such expeditions are seen on their Instagram and can be purchased on their site.
